Message Checked in at Event Registration. Some parking lot shots:

Note the mist hanging around the mountain tops, and yes, we were stuck parking under trees in the rain last night:

G'mornin' Chester!

Then we headed out for a cruise, following Tim "But I drove like Grandma!" Sawbonez and a bigger crowd in front of him.

I dunno who was heading up that group, but we ended up stopping here:

Milled about a bit and finally decided that, whatever those people across the street were doing, we were going to do our own thing. Went over to Wendy's, grabbed some lunch, rallied whoever decided to follow us. Tim led a spirited romp to the Cherohala Skyway, a road which should have been beautiful and scenic, but instead he was then forced to ACTUALLY drive like Grandma, as we were met with this:

Wow, it was THICK.

View off to the side, where there should have been a beautiful vista:

Clear for a second:

Made it to the Cherohala Visitors' Center.

Check out that sky:

People shot!

From left to right:
I-Forget (owned the supercharged Z33), I-Forget (owned the blue Z33), Amy and Dean, our neighbors, at their first Z gathering with their new red Z32, Rob, Chester, Bernie, Tim.

Made a shopping stop, then headed back. Wish these had come out clearer:

From Killboy:

From US129Photos:

We got back in time for dinner and the Crazy Shirt contest. B and I both got close with our hideous thrift store entries, but somehow orange tackiness was not enough to overcome the might of the winning Hawaiian print shirt.

Hanging out in the cabin that evening, I spotted my dad crossing the porch two hours earlier than his guesstimate. He came to hang out with me Saturday. I was impressed that he had actually made my instructions for how to find me work - most cell phones don't work, so I had told him to just keep asking for me till he found me, and that's what he did.

I was previously a aviation mechanic and avionic technician and this car is harder to work on than Aircraft.
